L’Enclume was opened nearly 20 years ago by Simon. A champion of the the farm to fork movement, chefs and growers now work side-by-side at Simon’s innovative project ‘Our Farm’ to create ingredients used in all of his restaurants. All his dishes showcase the tastes, textures and fragrances of the surrounding natural world. Simon is currently the only international chef to hold Michelin’s newly created green star across two restaurants; Roganic Hong Kong and L’Enclume in Cartmel, UK. The green stars were a new addition to Michelin’s star announcements in 2021 and are awarded to restaurants who are dedicated to sustainable gastronomy.

Tom Barnes
Executive chef of Simon Rogan’s Restaurants in the North-West, Tom was born and raised in the Cumbrian town of Barrow-in-Furness. Following his chef apprenticeship straight from school, he made his way up the ladder to Rogan & Co, where the restaurant was awarded its first Michelin star in Tom’s first six months there. He was invited to compete on the 2020 series of BBC2’s Great British Menu. A series themed around children’s literature, Tom impressed judges with a lamb main course inspired by the Tales of Beatrix Potter, a dish which propelled him to the final banquet. Tom’s dishes are inspired by the ingredients produced at nearby Our Farm, offering a choice of seasonal and refined comfort food in an informal and convivial setting, whilst showcasing the techniques Simon Rogan has become known for.

Obsession Food Festival
Obsession first took place in 2001 and was created as a celebration of great food, wine and a meeting of friends, old and new.
