As one of the most-anticipated evenings in the Obsession calendar, The Great British Menu sees the ‘famous five’ reunited to cook together again for the first time since they created a banquet to honour the homecoming forces returning from the Afghanistan conflict.

Shaun Rankin is Michelin-starred chef of Ormer Restaurant & Bar in St. Helier, Jersey, and works on combinations of flavours using classic cooking methods reinterpreted in his own way. Committed to fresh, seasonal produce, he is renowned for polished, light-at-heart food.

Michelin-starred Glynn Purnell is chef at fine-dining restaurant Purnell’s, Birmingham, and can be credited with well and truly putting his native city on the culinary map. His inspired, adventurous cooking has earned him numerous accolades throughout his career.

Kenny Atkinson is chef proprietor at House Of Tides in Newcastle and previously won Michelin stars at St. Martin’s On The Isle and Kenny Atkinson At The White Room. His classically British food with a modern twist champions locally sourced, sustainable fare.

Danny Millar is chef at Balloo House Bistro and was named ‘one of the best chefs in Ireland’ in 2010. His emphasis is on fine, locally-sourced ingredients and he describes his food as ‘a modern interpretation of classic European.’

Nigel Haworth is chef patron at Michelin-starred restaurant and country-house Northcote, and was one of the first chefs to bring honest, seasonal British cuisine to the table - long before they became buzzwords. Guardian of the restaurant’s Michelin star, retained for 19 years, Nigel not only showcases his own talent at Northcote but also sets the benchmark for fine dining across the UK.
