Obsession 17 Charity
We are delighted to announce that throughout OBSESSION 17 and with the generous assistance of Blackpool’s premier jewellers Leonard Dews and our partner hotels and restaurants we will be raising funds for HOSPITALITY ACTION - the industry’s benevolent charity.
Penny Moore, Chief Executive of Hospitality Action explains how the charity works...
Hospitality Action is the trade charity offering a crucial lifeline to people of all ages, both working and retired, from the hospitality industry. Whether we’re approached by a chef, housekeeper, school cook or bar person, Hospitality Action will endeavour to support them, whatever the difficulty.
The past twelve months have been one of growth for the charity. We have supported more people, spent more money and worked even harder to develop the vital services that we provide. Our beneficiaries come from all walks of life and from all areas of the hospitality industry across the UK. They face serious difficulties on a daily basis: from terminal illness and poverty to bereavement and homelessness. I want to offer you my heartfelt thanks on behalf of them all.
We strive to keep our support relevant to the industry and so, in addition to our established grants programme, we also offer help via our student Alcohol and Drug Awareness seminars, Employee Assistance Programme and our popular befriending scheme for industry retirees.
Sometimes all it takes is a very small change in circumstances to tip the balance and turn a manageable situation into an unmanageable one. With your help we want to make sure that everyone who needs our support gets it.
